Pumpkins, Leaves, and the Color Orange

**Note: To those completely irritated by the fact that our summer was about 8 weeks long, you may not like this post.  But since there is nothing we can do about it except move to Arizona…

The weather in Bend today is cold, rainy, gloomy, and is heavily cloaked in the reminiscence of Fall.  And while there may still be a few more days of summer left, these are the things that are making me very excited for the days to come…

  • Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Caramel Apple Cider
  • The way my street looks when all the leaves fall
  • Hot chocolate at the local high school football games
  • Pumpkin bars
  • The first time the fireplace is used
  • Baking down a pumpkin
  • Making 40 pounds of applesauce with the ever delicious Gravenstein apples
  • Fall scarves
  • The color orange
  • The return of TV shows
  • My heated mattress pad (Aaron, aren’t you glad we have dual control?)

What about you?  What is your favorite part of Fall?

“there is nothing we can do about it except move to Arizona…” Uh, excuse me, what about Texas?

Actually I’m tired of the heat and would love some fall weather while I’m there. Can you arrange that?

My favorite things are being able to really enjoy a Mocha Latte, hot showers, and sleeping all wrapped up and warm.

The leaves changing color, the smell of the crisp air (and the smell of fireplaces being used), snuggling under soft, fuzzy blankets, carving pumpkins, and the cooler temperatures!…these are a few of my favorite things!!
